Sherlock.

i took out a pen and paper in class today and wrote a prayer. 

Lord, I can’t do this on my own like i’ve been trying. I can’t take my own thoughts captive without you. I can’t focus my thought life on you without your help. I’m crushing on this guy but i want what your will is for me. If it’s dating this dude, then awesome. But if not, then Lord, help me be ok with that and move on. Please make it evident. Thank you for my friendship with him and thank you for how he’s grown and how much he loves you. I pray for him and me, that our lives will be centered on you, no matter what. Lord, you know what’s best for me and for him. I don’t want to stumble him or anything close to that. I want to get to know him better as a friend, and whatever you want God, I pray that that will happen. Show me who to talk to at homechurch tonight, so I’m not focused on him. Lord, I want to give this over to you. Help me to do this on a daily basis.

Amen. 

Then, being the practical, need for tangibility kind of person that I am, I folded it up, wrote “To Jesus, From Shelby” on it, and literally, gave it to God. 

I wanted to put it in an envelope, but i couldn’t find one.

Homechurch tonight was great. Prayer answered for tonight. Hopefully I’m active in this choice.
